This idler pulley is found on the upper left side of the engine, below the A/C compressor on Discovery II and P38 Range Rover.
The pulley was originally made from plastic. After some time, the plastic pulley would become deformed, causing excessive noise or chirping from contact with the serpentine belt.
Land Rover began to replace the plastic pulley with a heavy-duty metal unit like this.
Fits the following Land Rover vehicle applications:
-Discovery II (1999-2004)
-Range Rover P38 (1999.5-2002) [Fits 1999 model year P38 Range Rover with the Bosch engine management system] (If your Range Rover has two exhaust pipes, this will fit.)
